November 23, 2019 regulations on review of citizenship issues by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and its regional offices comes into force.
The renewal of these regulations seems to be an expected and logical step due to the fact that up until now authorities used the old regulations which were not reviewed since the citizenship issues were transferred back to the Ministry of Internal Affairs from the Federal Migration Service office. What is more, this year has seen many amendments of legislation governing the procedure of acquiring citizenship.
Thus, regulations describe actions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs officials while reviewing citizenship applications, applications for denunciation of citizenship, applications for citizenship filed in simplified procedures, restoration of citizenship and etc.
Regulations also contain new forms of documents, used by the Ministry of Internal Affairs officials.
Though, it has to be noted that application forms as well as lists of documents, which applicants file to the Ministry of Internal Affairs are still approved by the Presidential Order from the 14.11.2002 N 1325 “Regulations on the procedure for review of citizenship applications” (with amendments).
